What is a Podcast?
Podcasting is a method of receiving syndicated audio content, using the RSS 2.0 file format, at no cost. Once a provider serves the data as a podcast feed, users can listen to it on their PC or Mac by using podcast software (see below.) Since podcasts are MP3 audio files, you can transfer feeds to your MP3 Player.

What do I need to get started?
To listen to the syndicated feeds on your computer, you need to download podcast software. There are many free or commercial podcast applications available for download. Here are a few:

iTunes (PC or Mac)
Juice Receiver (PC)
Playpod (Mac)

How do I subscribe Ric Edelman Podcasts?
To subscribe to Ric Edelman Show podcasts, locate the Ric Edelman Podcast button:

Right-click on top of the button and "Copy Link Location" (PC) or control-click and "Copy Link" (Mac) to copy the podcast RSS link. If you get an error message, you might need to use another web browser -- learn more.

Open the podcast software of your choice and paste the URL (http://www.ricedelman.com/site/rss_feed_podcasts.jsp) into the podcast software per the software's instructions.

How do I subscribe using iTunes?
Select "Subscribe to Podcast" under "Advanced" option in the top control bar:

A new window will open. Copy the following URL and paste it into the "Subscribe to Podcast" window:
http://www.ricedelman.com/site/rss_feed_podcasts.jsp

Hit "OK." iTunes should find the podcast and automatically download the most recent episode.

What if I'm not getting the entire show?

If you're having a problem receiving the second half of the podcast through iTunes then try the following steps:

  • In iTunes, go to "Podcasts" library. There is a button called "Settings" at the bottom of the window. Click on the "Settings" button and a screen will appear with several tabs.
  • Click on the "Podcasts" tab. There are three menus -- the middle one should say "When new episodes are available" with a dropdown menu -- select "Download All" and click OK. *The default option in this dropdown menu most commonly will be "Download the most recent episode" which might be why you are only getting the second hour of the show, because that is the most recent episode available.

What if I get an error message?
*Please note, you will need to use another web browser if you see the following screen. Podcasts subscriptions may not work correctly with Internet Explorer v.6 or earlier versions. Please use another browser such as Internet Explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox when subscribing to the podcast.
