Serving on the board of a community, nonprofit, trade or professional organization is a challenging job. No one knows this better than Ric Edelman. (For more about Ric and the firm, read “Why Edelman Financial Services”.) For six years, he served on the board of the local United Way, including two years as chairman. He has also served on the boards of the Washington National Opera and Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area, and he currently serves on local, national and foundation boards of The Boys & Girls Clubs, as well as the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Ric is also a former association executive whose experience gives him important insights into that profession. Jean Edelman has extensive community service experience, volunteering for a variety of organizations, including board service for Northern Virginia Family Services and serving on the Rowan University Board of Trustees and John Marshall Bank’s Board of Directors.
Ric and Jean do more than just volunteer their time. They have donated millions of dollars to a number of nonprofit organizations, including million-dollar gifts to Rowan University and the Inova Health System Foundation; the Edelman Planetarium and the Edelman Nursing Career Development Center are named in their honor. Ric and Jean also encourage their employees to support their communities by matching some or all of each employee’s charitable donations, and every member of the staff receives a paid day off each year for volunteer service.
As a firm devoted to philanthropy and community service, Edelman Financial Services is ready to serve you — so you can serve others. Put our experience to work for you today. Call 888-PLAN-RIC or Contact us now.
