Waiting for Your Tax Packet to Arrive from the IRS?

You’re going to be waiting a long, long time
Don’t waste time sitting by your mailbox waiting for IRS tax forms and instructions — they aren’t coming.
The IRS has decided to stop mailing packets to taxpayers, because most people now file electronically or through a tax preparer. Elimination of the mailing is expected to save $10 million in printing and handling expenses each year.
If you filed by paper last year, you should have received a postcard from the IRS containing instructions for downloading the forms or obtaining them at select post offices and libraries. You can also ask the IRS to mail you the paperwork after January 1 by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).
